On Oct 9, 1996 he was appointed a member of Central Executive Committee and is responsible for Mon State.
He was the Secretary of Myaungmya Township, of the Dobama Asiayone (We Burmese Association) a pro-independence, anti-Japanese organization. He was the Regiment Commander of the BDA.

He represents the MNDF and was formerly its chairperson. He was detained for six years in the 1960s due to his political activities.

He represents the SNLD. He was an assistant to the Indonesian military attache from 1967 to 1977.
