Hundreds Protest Against Steep Fuel Price Rises

August 24, 2007—Protest demonstrations against the latest fuel price increases in Burma have drawn hundreds of people onto the streets of Rangoon since they began on Saturday. Pro-democracy activists led demonstrators in daily displays of open opposition to the regime and its capricious policies.
