We, the Executive Committee of the Assistance Association for Political Prisoners (Burma), would like to clarify the commentary, written by Wai Moe, published in your magazine on 20th August, 2004, named “Burma’s Fractious Political Culture”.
We found out that the commentary which is focused on schisms of historical Burmese political organizations starting from 1920 to was written only within the limited scope of the author’s

It is not true, as is stated at the very beginning of the commentary that, “one faction attempted to remove joint secretary Bo Kyi” during the annual meeting.
