Thein Sein government three steps approach to build Union of Burma is highly unlikely to bear fruits as there are only technical deals but more practical failure in ethnic areas like Kachin and Mon.

This cease fire truce is nothing more than giving a chunk of bread to appease a crying child who is deeply hungry. All ethnic arm groups needs full meal from the regime to serve them on the table not just for appetizer. How can an arm group who has already revolted against Burmese regime for 5 decades accept just a cease fire truce if they are mindful about how the past successive Burmese rulers have cheated them?

Accepting this cease fire agreement is just to show how shallow a revolution movement it is. Than Shwe will be jeeringly laughing when he sees arm groups who jumped and signed this cease fire truce as it is just his reality check to know how many dumb arm groups are in Burma.

nationwide ceasefire is the most important. thein sein can bring peace if he is willing to.he is still lying! YOUR OPINION?

Rimond Htoo personally experienced all process of peace talk between SLORC and KNPP in 1990s. He witnessed lying, cheating, bullying, threats, political minimization by the Burmese regime against ethnic armed groups from the A to Z personally. His memory is still fresh and vividly reminded to all ceasefire groups. His view is a good reminder for all ethnic armed groups who wish to talk with Burmese military back government.

I am wondering whether Thein Sein and his people including Aung San Suu Kyi is reading this article and other ethnic people articles? If they ignoring the true root cause of the ethnic people conflict, Burma never will have peace. Why are Burmese leaders so stubbon to do the right things and having open public discussion about ethnic conflicts? Ethnic people equality must be in country constitution and individual rights and freedom must be in constitution. It is time to make unbreakable covenant withing Burmese society, or we will be paying heavy price in the future again. Did any Burmese people get any positive outcome from 60 years war with ethnic people? I don't think so. All we get was death, destruction, distrust, and broken economy. War doesn't serve anybody but war itself. It is time for genuine peace, openness and equality. Let the ethnic people manage their home the way that they want. Big size government is not always the answer. Lets have peace.
