Some authors have been detained in prison for their support of anti-military movements, while others have fled the country to escape from the military dictatorship; the really unlucky ones have been forced to collaborate with the military. The sad reality is that years of repression have systematically eliminated press freedom in Burma. Aung Din is a writer and poet living in exile.
